We need people to fill a vacant positions on the Tenino City Council, the Tenino Planning Commission, and the Tenino School Board. Discussion may include, nominees, sounding board for your ideas, what does Tenino need in a candidate, etc... Links to the applications are available on the Friends of Tenino homepage and through the City of Tenino and Tenino School Board web sites.

At last nights City Council meeting the City of Tenino requested help from the citizens in balancing the 2012 Budget. Some of the City's ideas include a B&O tax on businesses, cutting jobs, services, and/or not opening the pool. Here is an opportunity for all of us to amass our ideas for getting our city budget back in the black. It would be nice if the ideas presented here are constructive, non-accusatory, and made in the spirit of the mutual benefit our ideas will provide.

Anybody want to throw their hat in the ring?

Here is where we can post the names of businesses we know are actively supporting the STOP Thurston agenda. If you see the business being used as a mouthpiece for this campaign, please share.

Here we can discuss our ideas about how to appropriately address these businesses. Do we start a boycott? A letter writing campaign? What if the alternative is a non-local business? How do we balance concerns about staying local vs sending our local businesses a message? Thoughts???? Ideas????
